Four alcohol traders get 3 years for kidnapping

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance has sentenced four Indians to three years in jail for kidnapping a compatriot who was rivalling their boss in alcohol trade.

SSJ, 23, jobless, JSD, 33, worker, SJS, 31 and BSH, 40  both are visitors, were ordered deportation after serving their jail term.

MS, 30, Lebanese, clerk, saw the kidnap when he was at his flat’s balcony. He saw a car stopping in front of the building and then another car arrived. Men in the first car got down and chased the men in the other car.

“They could catch one of the men and put him in the rear box. I went down to help the victim but they ran away. I informed police and gave them the plate number of the attacker’s car,” he testified.

Police reached the accused who had used a rented car. The witness identified the two attackers who were shown to him during identification parade.

The accused admitted that they had kidnapped the victim SS from Dubai on the request of the fourth accused BSH.

They confessed that BSH is their boss in illegal alcohol trade and that the victim was competing against him in the trade.

The victim was handed over to two who were wearing UAE national dress, according to the records.
