Fraudster leases lands of dead man

A businessman allegedly leased lands that was in the name of a man who died in 2006 by forging the deceased’s signature, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Last April, the deceased’s widow, SA, 41, Emirati, accidently learnt that someone is leasing lands that her husband had left behind in Garhoud area.

“I checked and found out that YH, Indian, was leasing the lands since the death of her husband in 2006,” she said.

The widow lodged a complaint against YH, accusing him of forging the deceased’s signature.

YH confessed to the crime before the prosecution of. He also admitted that he had deceived employees of Ejari to get the leases officially registered.

The court will reconvene on April 20.
