Hairdresser attacked, robbed in shop

Five people allegedly attacked a Dubai hairdresser in his shop in daytime and threatened him with a screw driver and a pair of scissors before robbing him. (Supplied)

Five jobless Pakistanis allegedly attacked a compatriot hairdresser in his shop in daytime and threatened him with a screw driver and a pair of scissors before robbing him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On October 21, the 25-year-old victim MS went to his shop in Abu Hail area at around 9am and started cleaning the shop.

“Five minutes after opening the shop, three men got in. One of them pointed a screw driver at me while the other grabbed a pair of scissors and pointed it at my neck after holding me by the collar of my shirt. They threatened to kill me if I screamed for help. The asked me for the keys of the drawers and because I got scared of them, I gave them the keys. They opened the drawers and took a wallet that contained about Dh3,000 and two mobile phones. They also searched me and stole my wallet which contained my labour card and Dh20 and also took my mobile phone before leaving the shop,” the victim told the police.

The victim immediately informed the police.

Within a week, police identified the suspects and arrested TM, 24, HA,23, and JK, 21.

The three guided police to their accomplices NA, 28, and MR, 22 who were watching the area outside the shop.

Police confiscated Dh1075 and mobile phones from. The accused told investigators that NA was the one who had planned the robbery.

They also admitted that they had distributed the looted money amongst themselves.

The victim recognised three of the accused who had attacked him in the shop in addition to the mobile phones.
