Sharjah Police busted a human trafficking gang who lured girls from Pakistan with the promise of offering them jobs.

The four Pakistani men allegedly brought girls on visit visas and forced them into prostitution.

The gang leader rented a villa, where the victims were being held.

Following a tip-off, police nabbed the culprits while two of them were transporting four girls to customers in Sharjah.

The duo confessed to the crime and led cops to the villa where there were more girls held hostage.

In another case, CID officials of Sharjah Police arrested three men and two women - all Bengalis - involved in prostitution, after a long chase.

Upon receving reliable information, cops raided the house and the culprits escaped from the back door. However, they were soon nabbed.

Major-General Hamid Hadidi, Commander-in-Chief, Sharjah Police, urged residents to co-operate with police in checking such illegal practises. People can call on toll free number 800 151; SMS at 7999 or e-mail at najeed@shjpolice.gov.ae and alert officials of any untoward incidents in society.
