Indian risks life to take half kg gold out of Sharjah

The Sharjah Airport Police and CID have detained NTA, an Indian national, trying to smuggle over half a kg of gold by hiding it in various parts of his body.

The gold was in the form of different pieces of jewellery and the man had put his life in danger trying to hide the gold.

The police said the man was hoping to evade duties on gold levied at Indian airports.

The accused raised the suspicion of the airport police by his odd body language and was subsequently detained.

Sharjah Police have warned residents and visitors to the emirate against indulging in illegal practices.
