The Dubai Criminal Court has awarded a 47-year-old jobless Emirati, TAR, one-year jail for threatening policemen to explode a gas cylinder if they came closer to arrest him.
Policemen were trying to release a Filipino whom the accused had seize in his house to sodomise him, testified First Corporal Marwan Abdullah who was assigned to join other colleagues to control and arrest TAR.
“When I arrived at the scene there were other colleagues trying to arrest TAR who was in abnormal condition and was holding a gas cylinder that he had opened and threatened to explode with a lighter in his hand,” he said.
The Filipino managed to escape and claimed that the accused was trying to sodomise him after kidnapping him and claiming to be a CID officer.
After calming down the accused, policemen at the scene waited for the arrival of a preventive medicine patrol as he claimed that he is Aids patient.
A police patrol took the Filipino to lodge a complaint. At around 12.30, police arrested the accused when he fell unconscious in a nearby restaurant.
“When I was rushed there, I found that it was same man whom we tried to arrest in the morning. He was rushed to the hospital and arrested,” testified the officer.
