Jobless man molests 7-year-old boy living in neighbourhood

An Emirati mother discovered that her 8-year-old son was molested by a jobless Asian residing in their neighbourhood after she saw changes in his behaviour and spotted scars on him.

On the day of the incident, MY told his mother when she accompanied him to his bed that someone had tried to take him to his house but he ran away.

The boy did not tell his mother details about the incident, so she believed that it was not a serious issue.

However, the mother noticed the change in her son’s behaviour the following days.

“My son started behaving differently; he looked scared of people around him. He started locking door whether he was in the house or in the car. He stopped waiting for the sports club bus in front of the house but instead waited in the room and refrained from going out in the neighbourhoods,” 29-year-old Emirati mother, HH, who is an accountant by profession, told Dubai Court.

According to the court records, when mother inquired the boy about change in his behaviour, he initially did not tell her what exactly was going on with him.

On the third day he told details of what the Asian man had done to him.

“I went to the grocery that evening and the Bangladeshi who resides in the neighbourhood with other workers hit me in the chest so I fell onto the ground; he pulled me to his accommodation and told me that there are many children inside his room and he wants me to meet them. He also told me that he knows the whereabouts of my house but I refused to go with him. He dragged me under a tree and pulled down my short and groped my private part, but I kicked him and ran away. I ran into the grocery and saw him waiting for me outside. He committed the same thing again. I again kicked him and ran into the house,” the boy told his mother and the investigators.

The mother told the father who informed the police.

Police arrested AK, 33, jobless Bangladeshi, who resides in a bachelor accommodation just 10 metres away from the victim’s house.

The boy recognised the molester when shown to him via identification parade, the court records showed.
