Jobless thieves found Dh180,000 in office

Four jobless Yemenis allegedly broke into a company’s office and stole Dh170,000 kept in a drawer and another Dh9,300 from a safe and fled, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The owner of the company, AS, 34, Sudanese businessman, went to the office in a building in Frij Marar area and found out that the door was broken. So he informed the police.

“Entering the office with the police, I found out that the safe box was broken and Dh9,300 was stolen. Another Dh170,000 kept in a drawer was also missing,” AS told investigators.

Police investigated the case and identified the thieves. SA, 33, and AT, 37, were arrested in Qusais and AM, 37, and AA, 32, were arrested in coordination with Sharjah police.

The accused admitted to stealing only Dh50,000 from the company’s office.

The Court will reconvene on March 24.
