Two Arabs who had confessed to murdering a 58-year-old Emirati man denied they committed the crime during hearings by the criminal court in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday.

The two defendants, aged 24 and 26 years, told court there is no evidence they had killed the Emirati man and buried him in a pit in Muairidh area in the northern emirate.

Police found the body of AG buried in a pit after his relatives reported him missing when he failed to answer their repeated phone calls.

The two Arabs, a paint worker and a contractor, had confessed to murdering the AG because of his delay in paying their fees.

“At court yesterday, the two defendants denied they committed the crime…the court adjourned hearings to Wednesday,” the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum said.
