Kuwait police search for 'naked man'

A Kuwaiti police station went on alert and sent a large patrol to a picnic area after receiving calls from women saying there was a man walking “completely” naked at night.

Police combed Mushrif area but found no man while the telephone operator at the police station did not stop ringing.

“Police patrols returned to Mushrif area but again found no man…they called those women who confirmed they saw a completely naked man walking in the area at 10.30 pm,” Alanba daily said, adding police were still searching that area late night.
 

Death sought for rapists of Vietnamese tourist

Dubai’s prosecutor is demanding the execution of three men who raped a Vietnamese tourist after snatching her to a deserted place from a shopping mall in the emirate, the press said on Saturday.

The two jobless men from another Gulf country and a Pakistani student took turns in raping the 24-year-old girl inside their car in a dark deserted area in the city before they were arrested by police.

The three, claiming to be police detectives, lured the girl into their car and took her to an isolated place, where they committed their crime. They then stole her money, mobile phone and passport.

During hearings on Thursday, Deira’s prosecutor Yousuf Fouladh demanded death punishment against the three defendants, who insisted on denying the charges. The court adjourned trial to April 5 to allow the defendants to appoint lawyers.
