Life-term, Dh50,000 fine for Emirati student

A 21-year-old Emirati student has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Dh50,000 by the Dubai Criminal Court for possessing and selling tramadol pills, reported ‘Emarat Al Youm’.

Police had received a tip-off that the young student possessed tramadol packages and was planning to sell them at Al Warqa’a Al Raba’a area.

A police undercover agent posed as a buyer and contacted him. Police confronted him when he took money and was giving the drugs to the agent.

Though he attempted to flee, he was immediately arrested and referred to Dubai Prosecution.

He was found guilty of possessing 20 tramadol packages,  with the intention of selling them.
