Maid stole jewellery worth Dh300,000

A 23-year-old Bangladeshi maid, MMF, allegedly stole her employer’s jewellery worth Dh300,000 and ran away, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Electrical engineer Ali Mousa, 48, Iraqi, testified that on December 3 at about 1pm, the family noticed that the maid was not in the house. “My wife checked the house and found her jewellery missing.”

The maid confessed to the crime and the court adjourned the case for verdict until February 26.
