A 32-year-old security officer in Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Mall, who was caught for filming private parts of the mall’s female visitors on his mobile phone, was sentenced to six months in jail followed by deportation by the Dubai Criminal Court.

Records mentioned that the convict filmed LS, 29, Russian businesswoman, by inserting his mobile phone under her skirt while walking in the mall.

LS testified that at around 7pm she went to a garment shop in the mall and noticed that a man was walking behind her.

“I did not give him any attention but after a little while, a woman approached me and told me that the same man had put his mobile under my skirt. I complained to another security guard who caught him and checked his mobile phone which showed a number of recordings including mine,” she testified.

Criminal Evidences reported that the accused had filmed private parts of a number of women in shopping malls.

The accused admitted to the charge before the police and the prosecution.
