A 41-year-old Jordanian assistant administrator allegedly sexually assaulted a Lebanese womaN a few days after meeting her in a restaurant where they exchanged mobile phone numbers.
The victim, GM, 27, employee, first met KH, in a restaurant where she was with her friend in the upper floor while he was sitting in the lower floor.
“For one and a half hours we were exchanged admiring looks... then I went down to his table and I sat with him for about five minutes after which we exchanged mobile numbers and I left the place. On the same day, we communicated on Whatsapp and he asked me to meet in a night club. But I apologised as I do not yet know him well,” GM told investigators.
The two continued chatting and talking and on the fourth day they decided to meet around 7pm in a restaurant.
The two met and had dinner together and at around 10pm they decided to go to the beach for a walk.
“We went by my car and as I stopped at the beach, he tried to hold my hand expressing love. I pushed him away. I drove and dropped him at his car which he left at the restaurant,” she said.
On the following day, the accused called the woman while she was still in her work and asked her to meet him.
“As we had earlier agreed to meet with my friend and her fiancé, I reminded him and asked him that we should go with the couple. The four of us went to the restaurant and my friend and her fiancé left at around 10.30pm. I stayed with KH until midnight and during this period he asked me for marriage. I told him that I do not want to be quick and we need to know one another more."
On the following day, January 16, the two met in a restaurant and stayed together until 1.30am. As they left and while she was dropping him to his car which he parked far away. He again asked her for marriage and pretended upset as she repeated her opinion to him.
As he was pretending that to get out of the car, he turned back and forcibly kissed her.
“I returned back home in International City and I told him over chat that he should not have done that... he then asked me to meet right away to explain the issue... I wondered when I knew that he was down the building. I got down to his car and instead of saying anything, he pulled down my seat and jumped on me and then tried to undress me... although I resisted him, he could pull up my shirt and ejaculated. I left his car and rebuked him of what he did via chatting... despite of that he asked me to have sex either in my flat or his flat... I stopped answering his messages and reported the incident to the police,” GM told investigators.
Police arrested the accused and checked his text messages.
Police found out that the victim had rebuked the accused of what he did.
The man's sperms were found on his trousers and underwear.
The court will reconvene on September 14.
