Man held for murdering girl in Dubai car park

Dubai police arrested an Asian man accused of murdering a woman after she tried to defend her friend who was molested by the man.

The defendant was touching a girl’s body at a car park in the city when the victim jumped on him and pushed him away.

He punched her many times, causing her to fall down and hitting her head on the ground. He then started to kick her head before fleeing with his friend in a car.

Forensic examination showed the girl died after her head hit the ground, causing a skull to fracture and from brain hemorrhage.

“The defendant confessed to have punched the victim and kicking her head many times,” the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.

Illegal migrant caught smuggling liquor in Sharjah

Sharjah police arrested a Pakistani for trying to smuggle liquor worth nearly Dh54,000 into the emirate by a stolen four-wheel car and the man was found to have entered the UAE illegally after he was deported.

Acting on a tip-off, police seized the 40-year-old man as he tried to sell the liquor at Sajaa industrial area while the stolen car was impounded, Emirat Alyoum daily reported.

Police said MAF confessed to dealing in alcohol and their records showed he had already been jailed and deported for illegal liquor trading before he sneaked back into the country.

Salesman held for molesting woman

Police arrested an Arab sales man at a clothes shop in Khor Fakkan on charges of molesting a female customer, press reports said on Tuesday.

The Asian woman reported the worker to the police, saying he touched parts of her body while she was at his shop.

The man denied the charges but was detained for further interrogation by the prosecution.
