Man jailed for molesting his 7-year-old niece

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance awarded a 31-year-old Emirati to 10 years in jail for molesting and attempting to rape his seven-year-old  niece and afflicting her with gonorrhea.

IHS, who is a sailor by profession, is accused of forcefully undressing and sexually assaulting his niece. In May, he abused her body with his hands. He then tried to have sexual intercourse.

The girl's mother, a working woman, testified that when she saw traces of stain on her daughterr’s underwear, she examined her daughter ZAS and found some swelling in her private part.

She immediately took her to a clinic for treatment. But the medicines did not help and ZAS had to be taken again for proper treatment.

During their second visit to the clinic, a sample was taken for lab test. The mother was told that ZAS was afflicted with gonorrhea, which can result from sexual assault.

“I repeatedly asked my daughter to tell me who did that to her... at last she said that her uncle was responsible. She also told me that her uncle used to threaten to beat her if she did not obey him,” testified the mother.

ZAs repeated her testimony before the prosecutor. She also informed the court that she was abused several times.

The records show that the accused confessed to the accusation before the prosecution.
