An Asian man killed his employer in Abu Dhabi by stabbing him to death many times after he was rebuked for spilling diesel he was transporting.
In court, the relatives of the Asian victim rejected diya (blood money) and insisted on the killer’s death, arguing that the victim left behind two six-year-old twin daughters.
“We have no financial problem and can afford looking after the twins. We do not need diya,” the victim’s father told an Abu Dhabi Court of Appeals.
A Court of First instance had sentenced the defendant to death on murder charges and jailed him two extra months for attempting a suicide.
