Man on trial for 'scissors' assault

An Asian man is on trial in Abu Dhabi on charges of stabbing another Asian with a scissors during a fight in the capital.

The defendant denied the charges that he used a "sharp object" to try and kill his opponent, saying that he had the scissors to have a shave when the fight occurred.

Police had arrested the defendant on charges of attacking another man with a sharp object, causing injuries in various parts of his body.

Defence lawyer demanded the acquittal of his client, prompting the judge to set Dec 26 for issuing a sentence.
