Man on visit visa molests minor girl

A beachgoer has been accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl while she was in a Dubai beach, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On May 10, at around 7 in the morning, 36-year-old Russian mother, YK, accompanied her daughter and other tourists to Jumeirah beach for a swim.

"After spending some time at the beach, we went to buy cold drinks while my daughter was taking a dip. A man, who was completely naked, came from her back and started fondling her. She pushed him and ran towards me. We started shouting and screaming and with the help of some other beachgoers we caught him and called the police," testified the mother.

The girl told investigators that the offender also kissed her head from the back.

Police arrested TH, 38, who was on a visit visa from Arteria and is being prosecuted for molesting a minor.

The court will give sentence on July 14.
