An Emirati man and his sister allegedly hosted two compatriot women for a drug consumption session in their house in Jumeira, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The man JT, 28, jobless, and one of his guests HA, 24, student, are accused of possessing two pieces of opium.

His sister ST, 37, housewife, and the other guest FM, 24, student, are accused of possessing amphetamine, hashish and opium.

The man and the two student guests are accused of consuming hashish.

The four were arrested following a tip off to police about JT possessing and taking drugs.

After checking the authenticity of the tip off, police took the necessary permission from Dubai Prosecution and raided the house on November 26 at 2.30pm.

“When the door was opened, we searched in the house and did not find JT. However, searching for him in the adjacent quarter, his sister opened the door. We got in and saw FM, student, sitting at a table where drug smoking pipes and needles were found. Later, the other student, HA, got out from a room followed by the man. The four were in abnormal condition,” testified second lieutenant Hamad Mohammed.

Searching the room, a woman’s handbag and a laptop bag, police found small quantities of different drugs.

The student, FM, initially denied any knowledge about the drugs found in her handbag and laptop bag. However, she later claimed that JT had put them where they were found. About the pills found in her handbag, she claimed that she takes them as per medical prescription.

Some of the tablets found in her possession were proved to be against medical prescription while other drugs were not, criminal evidences reported.

However, JT denied putting the drugs in her bags.

His sister ST denied any relation with the drugs.

Police confiscated wraps that contained small quantities of drugs and tools used in drug consumption in addition to cigarette butts contaminated with drugs scattered in different areas of the room.

Urine tests of the man and the two students proved positive to drugs.

The case continues.
