Man threatened woman to become his girlfriend

An Iranian businessman, SSI, 30, allegedly threatened a woman orally and in writing by posting inappropriate materials on the Internet to force her to have a sexual relationship with him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The 40-year-old jobless woman, FMR, testified that the accused orally threatened to publish her pictures and damage her reputation. He also sent her these threats via SMS on her mobile phone, asking her to be his girlfriend which she understood to mean as having sexual relations with him, she testified.

Criminal evidences reported threatening text messages on the victim’s mobile sent to her from the accused’s number.

The court adjourned the case to January 18.
