A jobless Bangladeshi allegedly assaulted a Comoros national and threw him down from the third floor balcony in an attempt to kill him.

However, the victim KI, 30, survived though he was totally disabled.

The victim told police that when he was underneath a building in Dubai’s Al Rifaa area, he was asked by a person to go up.

“When I entered the flat, there were many people in it. Then MI appeared and assaulted me with a sharp tool. I fell unconscious and woke up in Rashid Hospital,” KI testified.

Investigating the assault, police found out that the flat was rented by SK, an Indian sales executive.

“I had sub-let the flat to MI. Later I heard that he was bringing women into the flat for prostitution. I asked him not to do it but in vain,” said the original tenant of the flat.

After investigations, police concluded that MI had thrown KI out of the balcony of the house after assaulting him. MI was arrested in Hor Al Anz.

MI denied the crime but the victim identified him when shown at an identification parade.

MI has been accused of attempt to murder though the records did not mention the motive behind the crime.

The Court will give its verdict on October 29.
