Mason gets 6 months jail for stabbing roommate

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced a  drunk mason to six months in jail for stabbing his roommate and causing him 20 per cent permanent disability.

TLB, 40, Indian, was accused by the Dubai Prosecution of assaulting his roommate BRS, damaging the victim’s spleen that necessitated its removal and causing him a permanent disability.
 
The convict denied the accusation in court.

Policeman Yaser Saleh testified that following a notification he rushed to Al Muhaisna 2. “I saw the victim on the room’s floor bleeding at his belly. The accused, who was drunk, was standing next to the victim. There was a blood-stained knife nearby. The accused confessed to stabbing the victim without giving the reason.”
 
The victim was rushed to hospital where his spleen was removed. The medical report estimated 20 per cent permanent disability.
