Abu Dhabi Police have found Khaled Mohammed Al Wahidi, who had gone missing for a full day from his family home at the Al Falah neighbourhood in Abu Dhabi.
Lt. Colonel Abdelnour Abdullah Al Shehhi, Director of Khalifa Police Station, said that a team was formed immediately after receiving a notification from the young man's family, claiming that their 21-year old son didn't return home after dawn prayers.
He explained that the Bani Yas police station, Air Wing Department, K9 unit, Criminal Investigation Department patrols, traffic patrols and Community Police patrols took part in the search and investigation operations, in cooperation and coordination with other partners.
The team finally succeeded in locating the young man after eight hours of non-stop search in a villa under construction in the Al Falah project area, in cooperation with Aldar Properties, a strategic partner and project owner.
Abdelnour added that the young man, mentally unstable, went looking for entertainment because he felt bored. Following medical examination, the young man was transferred home in an ambulance. His parents pledged to supervise him closely, to prevent the recurrence of the incident.
Abu Dhabi Police called on the public to interact with its Twitter account @AbuDhabiPolice and send any tweets that would contribute to promote public safety.
It also appealed to parents to supervise their children, provide them with proper escort, and never leave them alone.
