Mom reports son for having sedatives

An Emirati mother in Ras Al Khaimah reported her son to the police for having sedatives, which he said were only for medical treatment.

Police arrested the young man after his mother reported that he has been taking sedatives and other tranquilizers at home.

In court, the unnamed man told the judge that he was having sedatives for medical treatment and that they have been dispensed to him by a health clinic in Fujeirah.

Newspapers said the judge adjourned hearings so the defendant can have a lawyer.
