Names, pics changed to forge visit visas

A Filipina working in a travel and tourist office allegedly swindled Dh6,100 from a compatriot by forging two visit visas, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim, DR, visited a tourist office and asked for the issue of visit visas and air ticket for her mother and sister.

“I supplied her with the documents she needed and paid Dh6,100. On January 15, she emailed me photocopies of the visas that carried details and pictures of my mother and sister. She claimed that she has sent the original visas to the Philippines and that she had made a temporary air ticket booking for them,” she said.

The travel agent, CK, 25, admitted to forging two visit visas that belonged to other people by changing names and pictures of the original holders.

The court will reconvene on May 31.
