Essam Eisa Al Humaidan, Attorney-General of emirate of Dubai, has ordered provisional detention of the accused in connection with the murder of Obaida.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution had launched an investigation into the case immediately after it was notified about the body. The public prosecutor ordered the formation of an investigation panel headed by Yousef Folaz, Head of Deira Public Prosecution.
The panel examined the corpse and instructed the coroner to prepare a detailed report on the cause of death. The forensic experts will take necessary action to refer the report to the Public Prosecution.
Folaz said the panel interrogated the accused who confessed to his crime. The accused was remanded in custody pending further investigation.
