Ajman Police arrested two Asians for attempting to sell a rented Nissan Patrol.

Major Ghaith Al Kaabi, Director of the police station (Nuaimiya), explained that he received a tip-off that a man planned to sell a car for Dh140,000, which did not belong to him but to a car rental agency in Ajman.

Legal action was taken against the accused after tracking the man and catching him red-handed as he was in the process of selling the car to unsuspecting buyer. The man was accompanied by another person while he was involved in selling the car. The police arrested him and his friend the moment the money was handed over to them by the buyer.

The duo admitted their guilt and accepted that they were selling the car off without the knowledge of the owner of the car.

The case has been transferred to the public prosecution.

Major Ghaith Al Kaabi called on the public to make sure they check the car ownership documents before buying a second-hand car in order to avoid falling victim to swindlers.
