Prostitution dens busted; six being tried

Four Bangladeshis including a woman allegedly forced a woman into prostitution after bringing her from her home country, confined and threatened her, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

MNA, 38, worker, MSH, 45, jobless, AHO, 41, watchman, and the woman AAS, 27, jobless were accused of human trafficking by exploiting the need of JBM, 28, for a work and falsely offering her a job opportunity in the country to make her come.

The three men were accused by the prosecution of having forcible sex with her.

MNA and MSH, were accused of running two prostitution dens in Fareej Al Marrar area.

The woman AAS is accused of practising prostitution for money and of having consensual sex with MSH who is also accused with having illegal relation as a wife and a husband with her.

JBM testified that on May 4 she arrived in the country on a maid visa. MNA picked her from the airport and took her to a flat in Fareej Al Marrar, then she was sent to another flat that belonged to MSH where she met two other Bangladeshi women who worked as prostitutes willingly.

MNA informed her that she will also join them in the trade. As she refused MNA, MSH and the woman AAS beat her up and so she submitted to their request.

“I was made to work by force. I was confined in the flat and was not allowed to go out. The two men in addition to the building’s watchman AHO misbehaved with me several times. On May 21 I tried to run away. I tied pieces of cloth from the balcony… I fell down and was rushed to the hospital,” she testified.

Policeman Masaud Mohammed testified that police received a notification about a woman fell from a building balcony. The watchman who was at the scene told me that the woman fell while she was trying to get down from the window.

“But we were suspicious. She was taken to Rashid hospital, where the woman told she was cheated by her compatriots and forced into illegal trade," he testified.

The police arrested the watchman first who confessed to leasing the flat to the first accused for three months and admitted to having sex with the victim three times after paying her as well as the first accused.

He also admitted helping the first accused with running the prostitution den, according to the records.

Police raided the flat and arrested the four accused who confessed to the accusations.

The court adjourned the case to October 26.
