RAK drug dealers resist cops with tear gas

Three Emirati drug dealers used teargas cans to resist arrest in Ras Al Khaimah but were eventually overpowered and captured.

Police and counter-narcotics squads in the Northern emirate raided the apartment of the three after they tried to sell drugs to a policeman undercover, who was sent as a customer following a tip off about a drug gang in the emirate.

“They put up tough resistance when police raided the flat and tried to arrest them. They used tear substance against the policemen but were later overpowered and arrested,” said Colonel Adnan Al Zaabi, director of RAK counter-drug department.

He said the three guided police to their accomplices -- another Emirati and two Arabs, who reside in Sharjah and Ajman. He added that those three were also arrested during coordinated police raids in those emirates and sent to RAK.
