An attempt to smuggle two stolen cars into a neighbouring country was foiled thanks to modern technology and prompt response by Abu Dhabi Police.
A car rental company in Abu Dhabi informed Abu Dhabi Police that tracking systems installed in two of their cars indicated that they arrived at a border post.
A police force rushed to the location and arrested drivers of the two cars and a passenger while attempting to cross the borders.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended the move by the car rental company to provide their cars with tracking systems which helped the police thwart the theft.
