Robbery by deception: Sharjah Police arrest two

Sharjah Police has arrested two illegal residents for robbing money exchange customers and snatching handbags of women leaving banks.

The two would monitor the movements of money exchange customers and pour oil on the tyres of their cars as a result of which the cars would stuck in sand. One of them would offer to help the customer with the tyres while the other would take the money bag in the victim’s car and flee.

Sharjah Police had received several complaints from victims who were robbed while leaving banks and money exchanges with large sums of money.

The duo also used to snatch handbags of women coming out of banks.

The two have confessed to the crimes and have been referred to the public prosecution in Sharjah.

Sharjah Police urged bank customers not to leave money in their cars for any reason. They were also advised not respond to anyone offering to attend to their car’s technical problems.
