Russian drug baron arrested, extradited

UAE police has arrested a Russian wanted for drug smuggling in his country and the Ministry of the Interior has extradited him to Russia through Interpol.

Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director federal anti-drug force, said the man was arrested in Sharjah in co-operation with drug enforcement agencies of Russia and USA.

After Russian authorities seized 295 kg of heroin and arrested members of a drug smuggler gang, its leader, who had four passport,  escaped and illegally entered the UAE.
