An Afghan owner of a women’s salon in Muraqqabat area allegedly installed cameras so that he can watch the salon's women clients on his mobile phone, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On December 5, 2014, at around 10pm, DH, 23, Syrian woman, visited a salon in Muraqqabat area to take Moroccan bath.
DN took off her dress and stayed in her underwear. One of the staff entered the room and told her that there were CCTV cameras in the room.
“I checked the room and saw cameras,” she said.
The customer called the police.
Sergeant Ahmad Abdullah was rushed to the scene and the customer who stayed in the salon told him about cameras in the bathroom.
The officer asked the customer to view the CCTV recordings to see if the cameras had captured her images.
The customer found that the cameras had taken her pictures.
Police summoned MO, 25, Afghan, owner of the salon. When confronted with the cameras, he claimed that he had installed cameras to observe his staff via his mobile phone.
Criminal Evidences reported that the recording had captured the woman customer’s images.
The court will reconvene on December 6.
