Sharjah police foil restaurant robbery

Three Arab men tried to rob a famous restaurant in Sharjah but were arrested by police who had received a tip-off about the theft plan.

The three men, including a worker at the restaurant itself, had decided to storm into the place on Friday to take advantage of the noon prayers when most other workers and residents in the area are at mosque.

As two of them broke into the restaurant and headed for the room where the safe is placed, police were on them.

“They confessed to planning to rob the restaurant with the help of the worker, who gave them information on the location of the safe,” Emirate Alyoum daily said. “Other staff members said that worker had kept pushing them to go to pray nearly an hour before the prayers time.”
