Sharjah Police succeeded rescued a Pakistani national who was abducted and held captive in a container in an industrial area of the emirate.

The police have arrested four men, also all Pakistanis, for the crime, which is believed to have centred around money – Dh400,000 - owed by the man abducted.

Acting on a tip-off the Sharjah police raided the container and rescued the man.

The accused justified committing the crime citing that the victim had not yet paid the large amount of money he had borrowed from one of the defendants, two years ago.

The man’s continuous evading of the repayment drove the accused to take this drastic step, they told the police during their interrogation.

The case is now with the public prosecution in Sharjah.
