Son testifies against mom in RAK maid murder

An Emirati boy testified against his mother in a maid murder case, telling court in Ras Al Khaimah that he saw her kicking the maid in the back garden.

The mother, who was sentenced to 10 years in jail by a court of first instance, denied that she killed her housemaid, saying the maid was ill and that she tried to help her.

The woman’s daughter told the appeals court on Wednesday that she heard her mother shouting at the maid and pushing her to the back garden.

“The son told court yesterday that he looked through the window at 1.00 pm and saw his mother kicking the maid who was lying motionless in the back garden,” the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.

“He told the judge that they were then eating and his mother kept going to the back garden to check the maid…he said that he later went to check the maid and found that she had no pulse.”
