Speeding driver seriously hurt in Dubai

An Emirati driving his car at high speed was seriously injured when he lost control of the vehicle as he tried to enter a roundabout in Dubai.

The unnamed man was driving on Oman street in Khawaneej area when his car hit the pavement inside the roundabout and flew out of the road.

“He was seriously injured and rushed to hospital….he was driving at a speed that largely exceeded the speed limit on that street,”: said Major Omar Ashour, director of the road accidents section at Dubai traffic police.

Ashour, quoted by the semi official daily Alittihad, said another car knocked down an Arab man on Jumeirah street, killing him instantly. He said the man was crossing the road from an illegal crossing when he was hit.
