Student in court for threatening to kill woman

A 24-year-old Iranian student, HSQ, allegedly threatened a woman to get her killed by the mafia if she did not drop a complaint she had filed against him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim, FMH, 28, Iranian visitor, testified that on March 12 last year, a week after she lodged a theft complaint against HSQ, the accused called her friend on her mobile phone  and threatened to get her killed.

“My friend was with me in my house when she received the call. She put the call in the loud speaker mode. The caller said he is in Istanbul and that he will send people from the mafia to kill me,” she testified.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until April 7.
