Taxi driver accused of groping boy

A Pakistani taxi driver allegedly groped a 15- year-old boy while taking him from his house to his friend’s house, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On October 26, KM, Jordanian, asked for a taxi over the phone and after sometime one arrived at his location.

“I asked him to drop me to my friend’s house which was not very far away. While I was sitting next to him in the front seat, he started rubbing my hand and legs while asking me if I like Pakistanis or not. I pushed his hand away and asked him to take the right road when he took a longer route,” said the victim.

When the boy returned home, he informed his mother’s friend who was in their house about the driver’s strange behaviour.

The family reported the incident to the police.

Police arrested ZA, 34, who admitted to his behaviour and asked for forgiveness.

The victim recognised the driver when shown to him via identification parade.

The court will issue its sentence on March 11.
