Teen’s molester seized 18 months after crime

Dubai police arrested a Bangladeshi man nearly 18 months after he tried to rape a 13-year-old Asian girl inside a building in the emirate.

Residents of the building in Rafaa area rushed out of their apartments after hearing the girl’s screams, prompting the man to flee.

Police said they spotted the man with the same descriptions two days ago and wearing the same watch he had dropped while trying to commit his crime in November 2010.

“He confessed to the crime while he was also identified by eye witnesses from that building,” said Brigadier Khalil Al Mansoori, director of the criminal investigation department in Dubai.
