Thieves who targeted Jumeirah clinics on trial

Two Pakistani workers who allegedly specialised in clinic thefts broke into a clinic in Jumeirah and stole two laptop computers, sunglasses, two mobile phones, Dh6,100 and 5,000 euros, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Following an increasing number of thefts reported by clinics in Jumeirah, police arrested JB, 42, and EB, 40. The two, who had been detained for other complaints, were also investigated for this crime, said First Sergeant Thabet Juma.

The two admitted that they observed the clinic and at night JB climbed the backside fence and broke a window with a screw driver, while his accomplice remained outside to watch the area. The accused guided police to the clinic after confessing to the theft.

The court will give its sentence on October 28.
