Three men who raped friend stand trial

A criminal court in Abu Dhabi on Sunday began the trail of three Asian men accused of raping their friend but adjourned hearings after the victim failed to turn up, newspapers reported on Monday.

Police had arrested the three after their friend accused them of raping him and using their mobile phones to film him while naked. A fourth defendant was accused of failing to report the crime although he denied knowledge of it.

Newspapers said the court decided on Sunday to adjourn hearings to August 12 after the victim failed to appeal in court.
