Prison authorities in Abu Dhabi sent two inmates jailed for possessing drugs to court again, accusing them of taking narcotics inside jail.

Both prisoners denied the charges and one accused the prison management of setting him up. The other inmate dismissed the result of blood tests, saying it was normal for his blood to contain drugs since he is jailed on drug charges.

“The first defendant told the judge that the accusations by the prison authorities that he had drugs inside jail were false and were in response to his complaint that they mistreated him…he requested that he defends himself and the judge adjourned hearings to April 2 at his request,” Albayan newspaper said.

“The other one told court that test results showing drug traces in his blood do not prove that he had drugs in prison…he said it was normal since he is jailed on charges of taking drugs…hearings were adjourned to April 9,” the paper added, without identify the two prisoners.
