UAE driver arrested after 200kmph car chase
Police arrested an Arab man driver who sped above 200 km per hour and refused to heed traffic police warnings after jumping many speed cameras in Ras Al Khaimah, press reports said on Sunday.
A RAK police patrol chased the driver and ordered him to slow down but he refused and continued his reckless driving that triggered flashing by many police speed cameras dotting the road, Alkhaleej said.
The driver was later arrested by police in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain and was handed over to RAK police, it said.
“He was interrogated before standing trial…in court he confessed to driving at more than 200 km from RAK to Al Ain,” it said.
Four gays arrested in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s feared Islamic police arrested four gays during a raid on their house and one of them confessed he is married to another man.
Members of the commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided the house in the southern town of khamis Mushait after receiving a tip off, the Arabic language daily 'Sharq' said.
They caught the four in obscene acts and found cosmetics, condoms and five mobile phones containing indecent pictures, it said.
“One of them confessed that he was married to another man who he met on Facebook…the man’s house was raided but he had already fled.”
Ageing man stabs foe to death in fight
A Saudi in his 70s stabbed a 54-year-old Sudanese man to death during a fight then clean ed his knife and waited for the police to come and arrest him.
The two had a heated argument before it developed into a scuffle in the southern town of Khamis Mushait, Sabq newspaper said.
“The Saudi man then pulled his knife and stabbed the Sudanese three times, killing him on the spot…he then sat down cleaning his knife and waited for the police to come and arrest him,” it said.
