A 30-year-old Uzbek woman allegedly posed as an Indian woman and forged documents required to apply for a credit card, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The accused NB had been found guilty of a similar crime in October 2012 for which she was sentenced to three months in jail and deportation in October 2013.

NB is accused of forging a salary certificate of a major jewellery company which carried the name of the Indian woman SN.

She also forged a photocopy of the Indian passport and placed her picture on the passport and the residency stamp.

In April 2013, the woman submitted the forged documents to a bank employee to apply for a credit card.

However, her attempt did not succeed as the bank suspected the woman after double checking with the jewellery company whose salary certificate had been submitted.

An employee of the bank informed the police that an applicant posed as an Indian woman to obtain a credit card from the bank. Among the documents she submitted were a passport photocopy, residence visa and a salary certificate.

Police asked the employee to carry on with the fake applicant to help arrest her red handed while receiving the card.

In coordination with the delivery staff, the accused was arrested red handed.

When confronted, the accused claimed that her senior MA had asked her to collect the credit card.

Checking her records, police found out a similar complaint been lodged against her earlier.

Criminal Evidences reported that the photocopy of the residence visa was forged.

The accused failed to attend the hearing and the court adjourned the case until September 29.
