A woman visitor to the UAE, who took a sex customer to court for not paying her the agreed amount in full, had here sentence of two years in prison for practicing prostitution, reduced to nine months by the Court of Appeal.
The court, however, upheld an additional one month in jail for FK, 27, for consuming alcohol.
Her sex customer, who was sentenced to one month in jail for consensual sex and another one month in jail for consuming alcohol, by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance, has his sentence increased to three months for the first charge.
The two convicts had their deportation sentence upheld by the Court of Appeal.
According to the records, FK, 27, Pakistani, approached Al Rifaa police station, complaining that she was not paid her dues by a sex customer. She was unaware that she would be prosecuted as well for prostitution.
“I met KA in a nightclub and agreed on Dh800 for one night. I accompanied him to his house and we had sex but he did not pay me the amount,” the woman told First Corporal Saeed Saleh.
Police investigated KA, 43, a jobless man from Comoros. KA confirmed that he met her in a nightclub and went by a taxi to his house in Satwa.
“Before leaving the club, I gave her Dh500, the amount that we had agreed upon. She gave the amount to her friend and then we left the club. In the house, we had sex and then she left without any problem,” KA told the officer.
The woman was prosecuted for working as a prostitute and the man was accused of having consensual sex. The two were also charged with consuming alcohol.
