Two Indian visitors allegedly entered a fitting room in a shop for branded garments and stole 10 pieces after removing the security tags and hiding the clothes in their handbags, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

A salesman noticed the two customers roaming around and picking some clothes. Then the two went to the fitting room.

When the two women came out if the fitting room, they were not holding any garment in their hands.

The salesman checked the fitting rooms and did not find any clothes inside, so he informed a security staff.

Security staff AB, 45, waited for the two women until they stepped out of the shop and demanded to check their handbags.

Opening their handbags, the security staff retrieved ten garments from their bags.

The security staff found out that the two women had removed the security tags of the clothes using a scissor. A theft complaint was lodged against them with the police.

Police arrested MR, 20, and NA, 25, and accused them of attempted theft.

The court will reconvene on November 15.
