Women pickpockets stalk Sharjah malls

Sharjah Police arrested four Arab women for alleged pick-pocketing activity across various shopping malls in the emirate.

The arrest followed several complaints received by shoppers who lost valuables while they were shopping.

Officials from the criminal department of Sharjah Police increased patrol at malls and commercial centres in order to nab the suspects.

According to complaints filed, the women stole items when the shoppers were busy examining products or talking to the salespeople or during prayer time.

The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Sharjah Police have urged shoppers to exercise caution while at malls and not to leave money in shopping baskets and to take care of their possessions.
