Worker found in possession of fake dollar notes

A 33-year old worker, JAS, was found in possession of two fake US dollar currency notes which he claimed someone had given to him as alms, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records, JAS went to a hotel and consumed alcohol. He paid $100 claiming that he does not have UAE dirhams, testified KAB, a 31-year-old Indian waiter.

When JAS went to the toilet, a colleague in another restaurant came to the waiter and told him that the same customer had visited the restaurant recently and paid the bill with a dollar note which proved to be forged.

KAB told his manager who informed the police. JAS told the police that he got the counterfeit notes from an African who gave them to him as alms.

Criminal Evidences reported that the two US dollar notes were forged. The court adjourned the case for verdict until June 11.
